• Explain common issues that arise when a PA owns a clinic and employs a supervising MD. 
• Recognize the important of respect and communication between a PA and a supervising MD. 
• Formulate a proactive practice agreement that is complaint with Washington laws and regulations.

Speaker Biographies

James Anderson, PA-C
James Anderson is a Physician Assistant at Evergreen Treatment Services in Seattle, and a commissioner on the Washington Medical Commission. He has practiced as a PA since 2000, with most of his practice in the pain medicine and addiction medicine fields. He has written and presented extensively about addiction, health inequities, social determinants of health, and implicit provider bias. He was a member of the 2015 FSMB Workgroup on Model Policy for the Treatment of Chronic Pain and is currently a member of the WMC Policy Committee. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Diana Currie, MD
Dr. Diana Currie is a faculty member of the Providence St. Peter Family Medicine Residency department in Olympia, WA.  She is adjunct faculty for University of Washington medical school department of Ob/Gyn.  Dr. Currie attended Harvard Medical School where she received an Albert Schweitzer Fellowship in pediatric and adolescent gynecology with a focus on maternal and reproductive health disparities by zip code in the Boston area. She has a longstanding interest in hormones spanning the endocrinology of puberty to reproduction and menopausal hormone management.  She has special interests in treating hormone related conditions in women as well as gender non-conforming and transgender patients. A passionate educator, Dr. Currie has been teaching medical students, residents and more recently Pas throughout her career.  Her philosophy is always to try to meet the learner and the patient where they are and help mentor or care for them on their unique journey.

 

 

 

Richelle Little, JD
Richelle Little is a Staff Attorney for the Washington Medical Commission. She has also worked as a Staff Attorney for the Department of Health, handling licensing and disciplinary matters for the Dental Quality Assurance Commission, Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery, Chiropractic Quality Assurance Commission, and other healthcare professions. Previously, Richelle practiced in the area of human subjects protection, reviewing pharmaceutical trials and device studies for regulatory and ethical compliance. Richelle graduated from University of Washington School of Law in 2007.
