WMC Suspends License of King County Doctor

OLYMPIA, WA - A Washington Medical Commission (WMC) panel approved the suspension of Eric R. Shibley, MD (MD60108064).

In January 2020, the WMC restricted Dr. Shibley from prescribing controlled substances after filing a Statement of Charges that alleged his care of nine patients in his Seattle practice, particularly with regard to pain management, fell below the standard of care.

Dr. Shibley did not stop prescribing controlled substances in direct violation of the WMC order. As a result, the WMC suspended his license effective August 18, 2020. He may not practice medicine until the charges are resolved.
