WMC Revokes License of Seattle Physician
OLYMPIA, WA – The Washington Medical Commission (WMC) revoked the license of William J. Washington, MD (Lic. #00046967). The WMC Order permanently prevents the doctor, who was based in Seattle, from practicing medicine in the state of Washington.
The WMC found that Washington was convicted in federal court of the crimes of wire fraud, health care fraud, conspiring to commit fraud, and conspiracy to make false statements related to health care matters.
The WMC also found that Washington provided substandard care to 33 patients in the following areas: hormone replacement therapy, gender-affirming therapy, psychiatric care, male hypogonadism, growth-hormone deficiency, hypothyroidism, obesity, and chronic pain.
In addition, the WMC found that Washington engaged in dishonest behavior by misrepresenting his treatment of two patients, writing multiple prescriptions for testosterone for himself through a pharmacy located in Florida, and giving the pharmacy multiple birth dates.
Finally, the WMC found that Washington failed to cooperate with two investigations.
