Out of State Physician License Suspended

OLYMPIA, WA –  In January 2023, the Washington Medical Commission (WMC) issued a statement of charges and summarily suspended the license of Dr. Farhaad R. Riyaz, MD (Lic. #61103258).

While Dr. Riyaz has an out-of-state VA address, he holds a license to practice medicine and surgery in Washington.

The statement of charges allege that the Virginia Department of Health Professions suspended Dr. Riyaz’s license to practice as a physician and surgeon in that jurisdiction.

Dr. Riyaz pleaded guilty to one count of felony mail fraud in VA and also entered into an agreement not to practice medicine with the Massachusetts Medical Board.

Within twenty-one days Dr. Riyaz may request a show cause hearing to contest the summary suspension.
