Out of State Physician Enters Agreed Order

OLYMPIA, WA – The Washington Medical Commission (WMC) has entered an Agreed Order with Sarah Crandall, MD (LIC. #60951421) related to Dr. Crandall’s failure to meet the standard of care in her treatment of five patients.

The Agreed Order found Dr. Crandall performed surgeries on patients who were poor surgical candidates and that Dr. Crandall’s inadequate planning resulted in unusually high instances of compromised blood supply, deformity, or necrosis, of patients’ breasts.

The Agreed Order requires Dr. Crandall to complete a clinical competency assessment, continuing medical education courses regarding plastic and reconstructive surgery of the breast, prepare a scholarly paper explaining her understanding of the anatomy of the vascular supply to the breast and operative complications related to comorbidities, engage in a preceptorship, make personal appearances before the WMC, complete personal reports, and pay a fine.
