Out of State MD Receives Final Order

OLYMPIA, WA –In January 2023, a Washington Medical Commission (WMC) panel issued a Final Order reprimanding and placing conditions on the physician and surgeon license of orthopedic surgeon Dara Parvin, MD, (License 60139957).

The Final Order arrived after a sanctions only hearing on October 21, 2022. The hearing focused on sanctions because the WMC was granted a partial summary judgment order in 2022, finding that Dr. Parvin violated RCW 18.130.180(5).

The WMC's Final Order found that Dr. Parvin had entered into a settlement with the Iowa Board of Medicine regarding inappropriate advances and suggestive messages towards subordinate coworkers and a colleague. WA sanctions include a reprimand, compliance with the Iowa agreement, and an assessment from the Washington Physician Health Program (WPHP). However, at this time Dr. Parvin's WA license has expired.
