Out of State MD Enters Agreed Order

OLYMPIA, WA – In January, the WMC entered into an agreed order with Chester C. Hu, MD (License 00039238) restricting his Washington State physician and surgeon license.

Dr. Hu came to the attention of the Alaska State Medical Board after he administered a medication to a patient with a known allergy to the medication. Hu was placed on probation. Alaska's action prompted further measures by the WMC.

The conditions of the WMC order include: restriction of Dr. Hu’s practice to a hospital-based setting with a post-anesthesia care unit, compliance audits to ensure compliance, a fine, and personal appearances before the WMC. These terms are only applicable to Dr. Hu’s treatment of patients in Washington.

Dr. Hu may petition for termination of the restriction and oversight in three years and after satisfying the terms of the order. Dr. Hu has active credentials in both Washington and Alaska and had previous disciplinary action in Washington in 2018.

Legal documents in this case are available online by visiting the DOH Provider Credential Search.
