License of King County MD Summarily Restricted
OLYMPIA, WA – In October 2024, the Washington Medical Commission (WMC) summarily restricted the license of King County physician Sjardo S. Steneker (Lic. # 00032063).
Pending further disciplinary proceedings by the WMC, Dr. Steneker will be prohibited from prescribing controlled substances. The summary restriction order allows for a brief period of time where Dr. Steneker may issue prescriptions to established patients to mitigate the disruption in care.
The WMC Statement of Charges outlines several allegations against Dr. Steneker, including but not limited to the following:
- Inappropriate prescription of controlled substances.
- Inadequate documentation of patient encounters.
- Insufficient management of primary care medical issues, including diabetes.
- Concurrently prescribing opioids and sedative medications in doses that risk overdose.
- Failing to effectively enforce treatment compliance contracts and respond appropriately to indications of patient misuse or diversion of controlled substances.
- Mismanagement of various medical conditions in multiple patients.
