King County Physician Remains Suspended

OLYMPIA, WA – In October the Washington Medical Commission (WMC) upheld the suspension of medical license for Kristine S. Brecht, MD (License #00044369).

In 2021, Dr. Brecht entered into an agreed order with the WMC which, among other terms, restricted her from performing procedures that require sedation.

Separately, in October of 2021, Dr. Brecht admitted to Department of Health facilities unit that she was operating an unlicensed surgical facility. She agreed to stop operation of the facility until she was credentialed.

However, despite both agreements and restrictions, Dr. Brecht did not comply with WMC order. Dr. Brecht requested a hearing to contest the summary suspension aspect of the WMC action.

The hearing found Dr. Brecht posed an immediate threat to the public health, safety, or welfare and upheld her suspension.

Additionally, there is a hearing scheduled Jan. 11, 2023 on the issue of Dr. Brecht allegedly performing procedures that require sedation while restricted from doing so.

Legal documents in this case are available online by visiting the DOH Provider Credential Search website.
